Peter joined the firm in 1992 and has been a partner since 2000. Peter's practice emphasizes complex business, commercial, employment, entertainment, real estate, and sports litigation. Peter received his bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland in 1986 where he earned a Distinguished Scholar Award, among other honors. Peter earned his law degree cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1989, where he served on the staff of The Tax Lawyer.

Contract:
Peter has represented individual and corporate clients in a variety of commercial contract disputes in state courts in California and Maryland, and federal courts in California, Florida, and Maryland. Peter has successfully prosecuted and defended business, commercial, employment, entertainment, sports and real estate matters. Peter recently obtained a $400,000 settlement of a complex fraud and family law matter against a Hong Kong resident.

Employment:
Peter has considerable experience in prosecuting and defending employment actions involving breach of contract, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and retaliation claims based on California's Fair Employment and Housing Act. Peter has successfully defended Fortune 500 clients in multimillion dollar wrongful termination claims, as well as smaller firms and individuals in employment related claims.

Entertainment:
Peter has considerable experience in trying and litigating entertainment matters, including the successful defense of a major motion picture studio in a $20 million profit participation and fraud action. The firm not only successfully defended the motion picture studio against the plaintiff television series co-creator's $20 million claim, but also obtained a $1.5 million award of attorneys' fees and costs. Peter has also successfully litigated a variety of other entertainment matters, including disputes between artists and their managers, record companies, and production companies.

Real Estate:
Peter has considerable experience in handling real estate matters, including prosecution and defense of fraud in real estate purchase matters, construction defect, and developer actions. Peter recently obtained a settlement for over $600,000 in a complex construction defect matter, representing a prominent professional football player against a builder/developer and over 20 subcontractors.

Sports:
Peter has considerable experience representing sports franchise owners and athletes in various matters, including commercial disputes between franchises, actions against agents, and disputes over territorial rights involving minor and major league baseball. Peter also successfully represented a prominent National Hockey League player in the first arbitration under the former NHL collective bargaining agreement.
