Corey E. Klein has been with the firm since its founding in 1988. He has been a partner in the firm since 1994. Corey regularly litigates a broad range of complex business cases in trial and appellate courts and in various arbitration forums. Corey’s practice particularly emphasizes the areas of employment counseling and litigation, business and contract litigation, defamation and first amendment litigation, real estate and construction litigation, and professional malpractice defense. Corey has been named a "Southern California Super Lawyer" in Southern California Super Lawyers and Los Angeles magazines.

BUSINESS AND CONTRACT LITIGATION
Corey has represented clients in partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, corporate governance disputes, breach of contract matters, fraud and unfair competition cases, securities fraud litigation, real estate and employment disputes, and copyright and trademark disputes. The industries involved in these cases have ranged from insurance to restaurants; from heavy manufacturing to internet commerce; and from film and television production to real estate, among many others.
EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING AND LITIGATION
Corey has represented both employer and employee clients in all types of employment litigation including wrongful termination, age discrimination, disability discrimination, sex discrimination, national origin discrimination, sexual harassment, WARN Act, and wage and hour law violations. Corey has represented clients in Department of Labor audits, Labor Commissioner investigations and hearings, and other administrative proceedings. Corey has counseled businesses on a wide variety of employment law and human resources issues including employee benefits, personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks, and governmental compliance. He has also negotiated employment agreements and severance agreements on behalf of both employees and employers.
DEFAMATION AND FIRST AMENDMENT LITIGATION
Corey has represented both media and individuals in numerous cases involving alleged product disparagement, libel, slander, defamation, false advertising, invasion of privacy, and related matters.
REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION
Corey has represented real estate developers in a variety of actions including multi-million dollar construction contract actions, construction defect actions, easement disputes, zoning disputes, and mechanic’s lien actions. Corey has also represented tenants in commercial lease disputes, ground lessees in ground lease disputes, and property owners in boundary disputes, planning and building code compliance disputes, and real estate purchase and sale contract matters.
PROFESSIONAL MALPRACTICE DEFENSE
Corey has defended lawyers and law firms accused of legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and related torts.
