DAVID M. BERKE |
David graduated from the UCLA School of Law in the top 15% of his class in 2003. While at UCLA, he served as a Managing Editor of the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy, and participated in the Moot Court Honors program. David has defended and prosecuted a broad variety of matters, including commercial litigation, products liability, insurance coverage, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, real estate, and appeals. In addition to representing individual clients, David has recently taken substantial responsibility in representing a large multinational consulting and market research company in a case involving issues of breach of duty of loyalty and misappropriation of intellectual property. David has also represented large multinational law firms, and a large multinational consulting and outsourcing company. With substantial experience working on insurance coverage issues, David is also able to address insurance issues that often arise in the course of litigation David has had substantial success in resolving matters in his clients’ favor without the need for trial. For example, David obtained summary judgment on behalf of a prominent international tire manufacturer. When the plaintiff appealed, David prepared the winning brief upholding the trial court’s order granting summary judgment. David also obtained a court ordered protective order requiring that depositions of numerous employees of a Korean manufacturing company take place in Korea. David has also obtained multiple summary judgment orders on behalf of many other clients. David also represented an insurer’s general agent, and prepared a demurrer that was sustained without leave to amend, resulting in the dismissal of the case as to his client.
